  • All Props and surfaces are wiped down with sanitizer after each event.
  • All guests and staff will be required to wear masks at all times while on the property
  • Temperatures of guests will be taken upon arrival
  • Guests will be asked to sanitize their hands before and after their event.
  • Regardless of original room capacities the state has mandated that groups may not be over 10 people.  Any room showing a capacity of more than 10 will not allow you to reserve more than 10.

Lockology Escape Rooms is an escape room entertainment venue. In the experience you will be locked inside for a designated amount of time while you and your team try to figure out how to solve the room. The room contain clues, trap doors, locks, safes and hidden items. Anything that’s not glued or bolted down can be moved and may be an integral piece in your ability to solve this game.

What is an escape room / escape game? Expand

The escape game genre started out as a series of point-and-click computer games where players must escape from a locked area by using the environment around him/her. Lockdown Columbus is a live version of this, where you must physically search the environment for items and clues that will help you escape. You are given a set amount of time to try and escape before your fate is sealed.

Are Reservations Required? Expand

Yes.  We do require advanced reservations.  All time slots will close out 3 hours prior to the event if no one else has reserved a spot.  Reservations with groups scheduled, but that have remaining spots open, will close 1 hour prior to the event start time.

Can I reschedule my reservation? Expand

You may reschedule your reservation once without any fee up to 48 hours prior to the start time of your current reservation. Rescheduling less than 48 hours prior to the start time of your reservation will result in a $15 per-person fee. If you purchased reservation insurance this fee will be waived once.

If guests are late or missed their reservation they will need to purchase a new reservation.  Rescheduling is not an option.

I would like to cancel my reservation for a refund. Expand

We have a strict no cancellation/no refund policy. All sales are final and nonrefundable regardless of whether you show up for your reservation. Please be aware of this before booking your reservation with us.  Refund are only provided if we cancel your event due to our decision to close.  If we are forced to close due to factors beyond our control we will allow free reservations hold, but will not issue refunds.

As of 3/1/20 due to COVID-19 concerns we are allowing reservations to be placed on hold and waiving all rescheduling fees.  Our no cancellation policy remains in effect.

How long before my scheduled time do I need to arrive? Expand

We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled reservation time in order to fill out paperwork and listen to our tips and safety speech. Do not be late. If you arrive late your tickets will not be refunded or rescheduled.

If I’m late, can I still play? Expand

If you arrive after we have started the game (the time slot you have booked), we cannot allow you inside. This would disrupt the game for the other participating players and negatively affect the schedule for the rest of the shows as we would need to start the event over. Please account for traffic, and map us out beforehand so there are no surprises.  If you miss your reservation you will not be rescheduled.  You must purchase entry for another event at current regular or promotional price.

Are all rooms private? Expand

No. Unless you reserve the room specifically to be private, you may be joined by other people. At checkout you may reserve all 8 spots for the room to ensure no one else books your time slot. If you choose to not reserve the room as private your experience may vary as we are not responsible to the behavior or language of anyone in the room. We will only interfere in the game if our rules are being violated.

Are there age restrictions to attend? Expand
  • In Short – Yes.   Please keep in mind our puzzles were designed for the adult player, some items may be too difficult or not appropriate for younger children.
    • For more kid-friendly environments please check out the rooms at our Powell location.
  • No Babies or children who require a stroller will be permitted in the rooms for safety reasons.
  • No one under 7 years of age will be permitted in a room.
  • Participants under 12 years of age must be in a private room.
  • Our location is not appropriate for a large group of kids under 12 years of age.
  • Adults are required to be in the room for participants 15 years of age or younger.
  • All participants require a waiver, however, all participants under 18 years of age will require a waiver signed by a legal guardian.

What is the cost? Expand

Pricing varies by location and number of people in your group.  You can view the pricing on each location’s page.

Do you have a Groupon offer? Expand

NOTE: Due to the Pandemic we are Limited to 10 people of less in a room.  Regardless of the voucher you purchase we can not exceed this due to state mandate.

Yes, but it is only valid for certain rooms.  Make sure to verify this prior to purchasing.

There is currently a $5.01 fee per person when using a Groupon due to the large loss Groupon causes.  This is to offset the enormous cost of cleaning the rooms after use to remain COVID-19 compliant.

We can only accept one reservation per room and only one Voucher per reservation.  DO NOT TRY TO BUY MULTIPLE VOUCHERS.  Groupon only permits ONE voucher to be used per person.  This is against the terms of the deal’s fine print and our policy as well.  If you purchase a voucher make sure it covers your ENTIRE GROUP.

Why only certain rooms? – Offering Groupon requires us to take a 75% or higher loss.  We can’t afford to take that much of a hit on our entire business.  For this reason it is only offered on our more basic introductory level rooms.

AVAILABILITY:  You should check availability of the room you want prior to purchasing a groupon.  If the experience you want is not available neither Groupon, Inc. or us can provide you with a refund for your voucher.

We will match the Groupon Price for this room if you fill out the request for below.  Please take a screen shot of the current offer you are requesting to price match.  Requests must be made 48 hours in advance of the date you wish to attend.  This may not be combined with the use of another voucher or any additional promotion codes

Crime Scene Minimum Quantities Expand

Any Crime Scene Investigator room that is using a Groupon Voucher to reserve the room will require a minimum quantity of 4 guests.  You may make a reservation with only two people, but your reservation will not be confirmed until more people have reserved the room.  If more people have not reserved the room you will be notified 3 hours prior to the start of the event that it has been canceled.  You may then email us to reschedule.

Do you offer team building exercises for company outings? Expand

We do offer team building services, and we’ve had some very large corporations come and benefit from the experience. Not only will it be unparalleled with respects to adrenaline-pumping fun, it is also a valuable experience for comradery with coworkers, and offers useful insight into your team’s strengths. Will I actually be locked in the room? Expand

No, the room will not actually be locked. Also, we are always on the opposite side of the door and there is always an emergency way to exit in place at all times. Your safety will never be at risk and guests can choose to exit anytime. However exiting the room early will end the game for all involved.

What do I need to bring? Expand

Nothing, unless you are the one who made the purchase.  We do need to verify the purchaser’s photo ID and Credit Card.

How long do I have to complete the game? Expand

You have 60 minutes to solve the room.

Is this a haunted house? Expand

No, Lockology Columbus Escape Rooms is an escape game and is very different than a haunted house. You will enter the room with the rest of your team, and then be given a set amount of time to solve the puzzles inside and escape. You’ll directly interact with many aspects of the environment inside, touching things, moving things, and opening things. There are no lines to follow or set paths to traverse, just a space full of clues, items, and puzzles.

Is this scary? Expand

No, not at all! Some our rooms might seem spooky, but that is just appearance.  Nothing in our rooms is designed to scare you.

Are there actors in the rooms and will they touch me? Can I touch them? Expand

We currently do not use any actors.

Can we go over the maximum capacity of a room? Expand

Management may make rare exceptions to allow a group to go over the maximum capacity of a room. However, we strongly advise against it as the games and the rooms were designed according to the set capacity.

Is it possible to book a game time outside of the current schedule? Expand

Absolutely, we can always book a special time, however the minimum purchase is 1 full room.

I want to have a private room for my friends only, but we don’t fill up all the slots. Expand

The only way to get a private room is to purchase all the tickets available for the experience of your choosing. Otherwise anyone can buy the remaining tickets, which is usually the case. Additional advice is to book it in advance, don’t wait until the last minute.

There is no discount for buying all the tickets.

Do I have to book online or can I pay cash when I get there? Expand

We generally only take bookings through our online booking platform. However, if cash is your only option, we can accept full payment in advance in order to secure your ticket time. Please fill out the form on the ‘contact us’ page.

I am buying this as a gift. Do I need to be there? Expand

We do need to verify the Photo ID and Credit card of the person who made the reservation.  If the person who made the reservation cannot be there and this is a gift, please purchase a gift certificate.

I have received a gift voucher, how do I redeem it? Expand

In the email containing the gift voucher certificate, there is a link listed under “how to redeem this voucher”.

Do you sell gift certificates that I can gift to a friend? Expand

Yes we do. Contact us for your gift card needs.

Promotion codes and 3rd Party Vouchers Expand
  • From time to time we run Promotions.  The best place to find these is on our social media sites.
  • ONLY one promotion code or one 3rd party voucher code may be used per person per event day. Any customer using multiple promotion codes or vouchers on the same day will have their event automatically cancelled.   No promotional offers may be combined with any sale pricing, or with other offers.  The only exception is The OSU D-tix Program.
Weather and Forced Closure Expand

In the case of winter weather, we will close when levels reach a level 3 snow emergency for the county our locations are in.  Other reasons we may close down for are tornado warnings, power outages, or building updates.  In the event you have a reservation during a time we will have to close down unexpectedly we will email and call the name on the reservation as soon as we are aware we will be shutting down.
